Wrote this recently after listening to one of the screwtape letters about how we see God....
Is your picture of God drawn with a ruler?
Is the scale just right?
Did you calculate it all correctly?
Are the lines all straight?
Is the shading just so?
Or
Did you scribble His face,
Screw up your picture,
Then scribble again?
Mind boggling;
Your pencil can't keep up
With the images racing through your head.
Tears streaming down your face,
The picture is all blurred now,
You will have to start again.
But then, you will always have to start again.
There are no rulers,
There is not even pencil or paper.
God is too big to draw.
But keep on scribbling;
It does the soul good.
