Fear

There is a fear that cripples,

debilitates and strangles

rational or irrational

it doesn't matter either way,

the end result is just the same.

There is a fear passed down,

generation after generation.

born of the fall,

seperation from God drives us crazy

with a fear that we can't understand.

There is a fear born of circumstance,

conditioning and training.

fear of authority,

learnt it the hard way,

and the spiral just goes down.

There is a fear that sees,

an awesome world creator.

a judge and rightful punisher,

and yet, a Son who bleeds,

and yet, a Son who bleeds...

There is a fear of God,

that calls us to draw near Him,

in awe with our souls trembling.

under His piercing gaze,

things cannot remain the same.
